A Department Manager Health and Safety, who could drive safe employee behaviour to lead and enable a water and sewage services company to achieve their safety vision of Zero Harm.
The Client
An incorporated company providing water and sewage services to homes and businesses across the state.
The Challenge
The Client was seeking to appoint a Department Manager Health and Safety, who could lead and enable their safety vision of Zero Harm by driving safe employee behaviour. The position was required to lead the health and safety function with accountability for providing quality WHS Management systems supporting the Zero Harm program. The incumbent was expected to bring extensive leadership experience and the ability to implement successful behavioural based safety programs.
The Solution
Our specialist consultant visited the Client, completing a tour of the main facility and spent time obtaining a complete brief on the role, and more importantly understanding their unique culture. Following this Safesearch conducted a talent mapping project for 2 weeks both within the State and Australia-wide. Due to the level, seniority and location of the role our broad national search also targeted candidates who were prepared to relocate. We then conducted a very intensive recruitment and selection campaign in order to ensure we engaged with the highest calibre of candidates, who were open to a relocation opportunity and clearly understood the strategic direction and requirements of the Client.
